AFC Telford need ruthless streak, says Phil Trainer

Phil Trainer insists AFC?Telford must find their killer instinct if they are to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle after last night's gut-wrenching 1-1 draw at home to Barrow.

The Bucks dominated virtually the entire second half only to let a 1-0 lead slip in the 90th minute.

The draw, Telford's 10th of the Blue Square Bet Premier season so far, leaves Andy Sinton's side still stranded on just two home wins in the league.

It also extended their winless run in the league to six games and leaves them just three points above the relegation zone.

Trainer said: "You see it in many games up and down the leagues, teams that have loads of chances and don't put them away, somebody goes and scores at the other end and it's disappointing.

"We need the points. We don't want to get dragged into that bottom four or five.

"Another three points would have been nice but it's two points dropped.

"Quality-wise there has been an improvement in the squad this season but, with all the draws we are having, we are lacking that killer instinct finishing teams off.

"We started off the season well but we have tailed off a bit now.

"It has got to come from within. All of us in the squad have got to look at ourselves and think 'where do we want to be? Do we want to kick on or are we happy fighting relegation?"
