Andy Sinton has praise for Ryan Young after fine show
AFC Telford United boss Andy Sinton has hailed the 'magnificent' display by his goalkeeper Ryan Young at the weekend.
Young produced a colossal display on Saturday, including a penalty save late in the second half, to help earn the severely depleted Bucks a 1-1 draw away at Gateshead.
The Bucks custodian also made a string of further crucial saves to deny the dominant Heed, who would otherwise have been out of sight by the time Steve Leslie netted a Telford equaliser 63 minutes in.
Having been one of several players to endure a difficult night in Tuesday's 4-2 defeat to high-flying Newport, Sinton was delighted with his keeper's response on Saturday.
He said: "Ryan Young has been magnificent, as he has been since I have come to the football club.
"He's been fantastic but that is what he is in the team for. I wouldn't say it was his greatest game the other night, or his greatest half of football.
"On Tuesday night he probably contributed to two of the goals against us but his performance on Saturday was outstanding.
"The sign of a good player and a strong mentality is the next game."
