Ryan Young delighted by AFC Telford spirit
AFC Telford goalkeeper Ryan Young has hailed the togetherness in the squad which has continued to pick up points while coping with a major injury crisis.
The Bucks have had to ring the changes in recent weeks after injuries to a host of key players have rapidly reduced boss Andy Sinton's options on matchdays.
But the team have managed to cope with the losses and Young said he has been impressed with the contributions of the players who have stepped up to fill the gaps.
Against Cambridge United at the weekend Richard Davies found the net with a stunning strike after making his first start of the season, while Liam Chilvers made his debut after signing to cover a shortage at centre-back.
The Bucks also included midfielder Kris Taylor at left-back for the second game running, and his first start of the season due to Ryan Valentine's back injury while Jon Brown made just his second start of the campaign at right wing with Luke Hubbins still sidelined by a hamstring strain.
Dan Preston was also sidelined serving the fifth game of a six-match ban.
Young said: "We have got an injury crisis but that gives other people a chance to play football.
"Against Cambridge Kris Taylor came in and did brilliantly well, Davies has done exceptional.
"I think there is a togetherness among the lads that it doesn't matter what gets thrown at us we just keep going."
