AFC Telford injuries showing no signs of easing

AFC Telford's injury woes show little sign of subsiding, manager Andy Sinton has revealed.

The Bucks chief went into last weekend's game with Cambridge United with an extensive injury list that included Chris Sharp (hernia), Jake Reid (hamstring), Chris Blackburn, Ryan Valentine and Michael Briscoe (all back), Luke Hubbins (hamstring) and Jay Smith (abductor injury).

On top of that, defender Jordan Rose overcame a bruised foot to make the starting line-up while Steven Leslie played with a rib injury.

The absence of a midweek game gives his men the chance to rest but Sinton believes this Saturday's home clash with Mansfield will still come too soon for most of his injured players.

"I don't think we have picked up any fresh injuries against Cambridge which is a real bonus so we have got a clear week giving people a little bit of time," he said.

"The danger I have got is probably the ones who are out, maybe next Saturday might come too soon as well.

"Chris Blackburn might be able to get some part of training done this week. Chris Sharp will join in some training but he's had an operation so the fact he's joining in training doesn't mean he is going to be on the bench or the starting XI.

"They are all making good progress but we are just decimated at the moment."

Hubbins is targetting a return for the home game against leaders Newport. County on September 25.
