Andy Sinton's concern as AFC Telford injury list grows

AFC Telford United?boss Andy Sinton is facing the worst injury crisis of his managerial career after seeing defenders Michael Briscoe and Ryan Valentine pick up knocks in Saturday's draw with Lincoln City.

The Bucks chief already had a sizeable casualty list going into the game, with Chris Sharp (hernia), Jake Reid (hamstring), Luke Hubbins (hamstring) and Chris Blackburn (back) all sidelined and Dan Preston suspended.

Telford played much of the second half on Saturday with right back Will Salmon at centre back and midfielders Jon Brown and Kris Taylor playing as emergency full backs.

And Sinton may well have to retain that back four for this Saturday's trip to Cambridge United.

"It's certainly the worst injury period I have ever encountered since I have been a manager," he said.

"I have never known anything like it. We are only eight games in and to have so many unavailable for selection is a headache.

"We'll have to get the boys in as much as we can. I haven't got the full extent of Ryan and Michael's injuries. Hopefully they are not too bad but it's a worry.

"I'm going to have to get cover in. I will keep asking but people can only do so much. What I will be asking is the boys who are injured are going to have to get in to the club more for treatment."
