AFC Telford United sign striker Darren Byfield

AFC Telford United?have signed former international striker Darren Byfield to help ease their injury concerns up front ahead of tomorrow's home clash with Lincoln City.

The 35-year old forward has joined the Bucks on a six month deal and the former Aston Villa and Walsall man will bolster a Telford attack which is still missing injured pair Chris Sharp (hernia) and Jake Reid (hamstring).

Bucks boss Andy Sinton has also secured thw signature of defender Jordan Rose, who has penned a deal until the end of the season having been on non-contract terms since his arrival.

Forward Byfield, has won six caps for Jamaica and boasts one international goal, began his career at Villa and also enjoyed spells in the Football League with Sunderland, Gillingham, Bristol City and Walsall – where he scored the winner in the 2001 division two play-off final.

Meanwhile, Bucks chairman Lee Carter revealed his delight at securing the services of Rose

The 22-year-old, has impressed for the Bucks in the five games he has played since arriving last month.

His performances had caught the eye of other clubs but the former Stockport centre-back remained loyal to Telford.

"We were delighted to secure Jordan's signature despite significant interest from other Blue Square Premier clubs," said Carter.
