AFC Telford United Chairman Lee Carter has lifted the lid on what prompted his explosive comments in last week's matchday programme against Grimsby.
The Bucks chief says he is sick of hearing about everything the Bucks haven't got and wants people to look on the bright side and focus on what the club does have.
Carter said: "I always use the last home game of the season as a chance to reflect in the piece I write for the programme, and that is what I did before the Grimsby game.
"There needs to a realignment of our expectations, both as a business and as a football club but there is too much focus on what our opponents have got.
"People are obsessing about that, when they should be obsessing about how far we've come in the last eight years."
Carter admits that mistakes were made last season, but is adamant the club will learn from them.
He added: "We need to get back to basics here.
"We made some mistakes in terms of how we spent money last season, but we will use that experience to make sure we don't repeat them."
