Midfielder Richard Davies believes AFC Telford United can finish with a flourish as the Bucks enter the final few games of the season.

Davies is sure Telford can not only survive, but move further up the Blue Square Bet Premier table ahead of this afternoon's home clash with his former club Tamworth.

And the 21-year-old admits he does not want to head north to Gateshead needing a result on the final day of the season.

"The gaffer is always asking us if our glass is half full or half empty and we know it is half full," he said.

"The boys just want to stick together, push on and get points.

"Hopefully we can get a few more points before Gateshead to make ourselves safe and we will do everything we can to stay up.

"We want to catch Tamworth and we will work as a team trying to do that."

The Bucks are unbeaten in four games and sit four points clear of the drop zone with four games of the season remaining.

Three points against Tamworth would put Telford within touching distance of survival but manager Andy Sinton is adamant that the form guide will count for little come kick-off.

"Tamworth are on a little bit of a wobble but it is a local derby," said Sinton. "It's another big game but they are all big games with four games to go. It's a Bank Holiday and I would urge people to come and watch us and roar the boys on.

"Our home form has been good and if we play like we can then we will win the game."

And although the weekend results dropped Telford to within a place of the relegation zone, Sinton is content with his side's position heading into the run-in.

"We are in control of where we will be playing next year and that is a good position to be in," he added.

"But, instead of looking behind us, why don't we look at catching Tamworth and this game gives us a great chance to get to within a point of them."
