Fit-again AFC Telford United striker Adam Proudlock is ready to return to the Bucks starting XI - and fire them to Blue Square Bet Premier survival.
Fit-again AFC Telford United striker Adam Proudlock is ready to return to the Bucks starting XI - and fire them to Blue Square Bet Premier survival.
The frontman has been out of action since October when he broke his ankle in an FA Cup win over Gainsborough Trinity.
But he is expected to be given the all clear when he visits a specialist today, paving the way for a return to first-team action in the next month.
"If it were up to me I would be back on Saturday," said Proudlock.
"But I will only be going into full contact training if I get the all clear so realistically I will be looking at a couple more weeks.
"I'm going for my final X-ray today and if I get the OK, which I'm hopeful I will, then I can join in full training straight away.
"I can't wait to get back into action and hopefully get amongst the goals and keep us in this league."
And while tonight's friendly with Mansfield at the New Bucks Head (7.30pm) will come too soon for the 30-year-old, he is hopeful of being involved sooner rather than later.
"Obviously it's up to the manager when I play," said the former Wolves man.
"Hopefully there will be a couple more friendly games so I can get back to match fitness and then I can take it from there. I would like to think I can be back in two to three weeks."
The striker will be returning to a vastly different Telford side, with fellow strikers Courtney Pitt and Andy Brown, who both featured in Proudlock's last Bucks appearance, no longer involved in the first team.
"There will be a lot of new faces but I have been taking part in training for the last few weeks so I know everybody there now." added Proudlock.
"Being injured is frustrating but I'm ready to get back on the pitch and score some goals."
