Boss Andy Sinton is preparing for a busy week – with up to FOUR new players set to check in at AFC Telford United.

Sinton is eager to make the most of the January transfer window in order to strengthen his squad for their relegation battle in the Blue Square Bet Premier.

And, after yesterday's 4-0 defeat at league leaders Wrexham, he admitted that he wants to bring in several new faces in time for Saturday's showdown with fellow strugglers Kettering.

"I'm close," said Sinton. "I've been beavering away over the last two or three weeks to line a few things up.

"I'd like to think that come the Kettering game on Saturday there might be two, three or four new faces in and around the starting XI.

"We need to score more goals, we need to create more goals and I think we probably need somebody of the ilk of Wrexham's No 4 (Mark Creighton).

"I need people who are prepared to battle, who are street-wise and who know what it takes to get out of a poor run and pull us clear of where we are."

Sinton admits he doesn't have a bottomless budget and is also preparing to move several players on to make room for the new arrivals.

Centre-back Robbie Williams, who has not made a single competitive appearance since joining from Altrincham in the summer, has already moved on – joining Lincoln on loan to the end of the season and making his debut in their 3-1 defeat at Grimsby yesterday.

"By the Kettering game, there will be five or six leaving the club," Sinton revealed.

"I've got to try and re-generate the squad here and to get people in I've got to try and free up some funds.

"There won't be as many coming in as going out because I'll use two outs for one in as we need a little bit more quality than we've got.

"Robbie Williams has gone to Lincoln already so there's one, and there will certainly be more."
