AFC Telford manager Andy Sinton is confident of taking the wraps off his first wave of summer signings next week.

Sinton has been locked in talks with potential targets during the first three weeks of the close season as he attempts to mould a squad ready to compete in Blue Square Bet Premier in August.

The Bucks boss is eyeing up to seven new signings to supplement last season's squad following the summer departures of the released Danny Carey Bertram and Australian-bound Liam Murray.

"The talks are on-going and there are more planned for tonight, tomorrow, Saturday and Monday," said Sinton, who confirmed a number of his potential targets have experience of playing in the top flight of non-League football.

"We have had lots of meetings and I'm hopeful of being in a position to two or three signings in the early part of next week."

Sinton, meanwhile, has confirmed that defender Mark Preece – who had a spell on loan at Telford in February – is a potential target.

"Along with a lot of other players, Mark is someone who is on the radar," said Sinton of a player who has now been released by Mansfield.

"He had a long while out through injury so that's something we will look into but I will be speaking to Mark again over the next few days."
