AFC Telford United have today swooped to sign young Wolves goalkeeper Aaron McCarey on a one-month loan.

The Republic of Ireland under-19s international has been brought in to cover the absence of regular No 1 Ryan Young, who is about to start a four-game suspension.

And, in a busy day of activity at the New Bucks Head, striker Steve Abbott is heading off, having agreed a one-month loan deal with Chasetown.

"Aaron is a young lad who is getting better and better," said Sinton.

"He's got good presence and he played in first team friendlies for Wolves in the summer, which tells you that they rate him very highly.

"He'll come in for the month and compete with Daniel Platt (Telford's regular understudy for Young).

"Wolves have been terrific," added the Bucks chief. "I spoke to their manager Mick McCarthy last week and I went in to see them yesterday.

"We've got a good relationship with Wolves but this is the first player they've let us have. Hopefully there will be more in the future."

McCarey was on the bench for Wolves reserves in their 2-2 draw with Arsenal last night and will join up with Telford for the first time in training tomorrow.

"I'm delighted to have him on board," added Sinton. I'm still looking for more players as well - I went to watch a game yesterday and I'm taking a look at someone tonight, too."

Striker Abbott was one of Sinton's first summer signings, the former Wrexham man featuring regularly in the early weeks of the season.

But he has since struggled to force his way into the matchday squad and has already had one weather-interrupted loan spell with Chorley.
