Boss Andy Sinton is set for another busy week in the transfer market - with up to three new faces lined up to check in at AFC Telford United.
The Bucks chief is eager to bring in a new centre-half to offer more strength in depth, with Liam Murray struggling with a suspected broken rib.
Deals are also in the pipeline to sign a goalkeeper to cover regular No 1 Ryan Young's suspension over the next four games and a striker to add more firepower to the ranks.
"We're close on the defender but it's been complicated a little bit because someone else has also come onto the scene to try and sign him," revealed Sinton, whose side secured a big 1-0 win away to Blue Square Bet North promotion rivals Boston on Saturday.
"We'll certainly be tying up a goalkeeper in the next 24 hours and I just need to put a couple of phone calls in today to get that done.
"We might also get a centre forward from the League, though I'm not quite sure on that one as he has been injured," he added.
"If I go and get someone that's been out injured he's in a similar boat to some of our others."
Sinton is also talking to Forest Green Rovers with a view to extending the loan of winger Lee Smith, whose initial one-month deal expires tomorrow.
"It's been a bit stop-start for Lee with games being cancelled and Trophy games where he was cup-tied," said the Telford chief.
"But we'll try to get the loan extended to the maximum 93 days and we'll see how we stand then."
Meanwhile, Telford's scheduled squad game away at Bridgnorth tomorrow has been postponed.
"Andy rang me this morning and said he didn't want to risk it as he's down to the bare bones," said Bridgnorth boss Lee Mills.
