AFC Telford United's 10-game unbeaten run came to a shuddering halt with a heavy defeat in the north-east.

Telford started well and Phil John twice went close to opening the scoring, first with a free-kick that hit the bar then a shot that pulled a fine save out of keeper Dan Lowson.

But the game turned on two mistakes from the Bucks' usually dependable No 1 Ryan Young, who spilled a cross to gift Paul Brayson the opener then fluffed a clearance to present the same player with the chance to double his tally.

There was to be no comeback in the second period either, Blyth adding a deserved third when Nicky Deverdics teed up Michael Tait to curl an excellent finish into the top corner.

Telford's night ended in more disaster when midfielder Phil Trainer picked up two bookings in the space of a few seconds to earn the Bucks fifth red card at Blyt in recent years - joining a roll of shame that includes Glenn Tolley, Sean Evans, Martyn Naylor and Gavin Hurren.
