AFC Telford United's game is called off

AFC Telford United were left frustrated today after this afternoon's Blue Square Bet North clash at Workington was postponed.

Reds officials had yesterday been confident that the game would go ahead despite a hard frost on Thursday night.

But they were forced to call it off after an early morning inspection today that revealed parts of the pitch were still frozen and other areas were waterlogged.

With temperatures in Cumbria not forecast to rise significantly through the day, a local referee deemed that the game could not go ahead.
