Shrewsbury v Stevenage preview: Town should take confidence from performances against big hitters
Shrewsbury Town are taking encouragement from their performances in recent games to help inspire them to victory against Stevenage.
Salop came so close to getting something out of the League One clash with Huddersfield on Tuesday night, but they were narrowly beaten by Josh Koroma's late goal.
Last weekend, they did well in the first half against Bolton, until again, they came unstuck in the second period and ended up on the wrong side of a five-goal encounter.
It has been a tough week for Shrewsbury after back-to-back home losses, but it is hard to keep their head coach Gareth Ainsworth down.
And he admitted he will use the performances his side put in against two of the division's best teams to help motivate his players for the clash against Stevenage this weekend.
He said: "You put on that kind of performance against Bolton, and then Huddersfield, and then it's a bit of a damp squib against Stevenage - it won't be.
"I'll make sure because that's my job. It's my job to give belief to these players and go, right, look what you did against Bolton and Huddersfield.
