AFC Telford continuing to chase new signings
AFC Telford United boss Kevin Wilkin is continuing to search for more additions to his squad.
Wilkin added Accrington Stanley’s Lewis Trickett to his squad ahead of Saturday's 2-2 draw at Bishop's Stortford, with the 19-year-old arriving on a month’s loan, while Shrewsbury Town defender Joe Morris has also returned on loan for the rest of the season.
Both give Wilkin more depth, but the Bucks boss isn’t content with those additions and will continue to seek more players of sufficient quality to augment his side.
“I think we have 12 games where we're going to need to step up, and obviously, the intention is to try and win all 12 games," said Wilkin, whose side were knocked off the top of the Southern Central Premier after drawing their last three. "Just really driving moments and situations home is something that we've got to go and do better.
"Those young men will be learning from these moments and situations they find themselves in.
"It's nice when we've got a bunch that want to improve, and that's how you hopefully make them understand those situations.
"People want me to bring more players into the group, but finding players who will have a real impact on the group and keep us right at the very sharp end of it is more challenging than some people give credit for.
"It's all very well bringing players in and being a mid-table side; that's not where we see ourselves and want to be. We want to be at the sharp end of it.
"Identifying players and being able to afford to bring them in can be a bit of a challenge, but nonetheless, we keep trying.
"We'll keep speaking to people, and hopefully, things will evolve in the next two or three weeks.”
