Shrewsbury Town are looking to make double swoop
Shrewsbury Town boss Micky Mellon is hoping to complete the signing of two forwards today.
The Salop chief wants to add more firepower to a frontline that includes AJ Leitch-Smith, Andy Mangan, Ivan Toney, Louis Dodds and Ethan Jones.
Toney, 20, arrived earlier this week from Newcastle United on a loan deal until Christmas, while 18-year-old Jones is a graduate of the club's academy.
Mellon is hoping two further attackers will be welcomed to the Greenhous Meadow today as his side gear up for tomorrow's League One trip to Coventry City. The boss said: "Yes I think that they might be done, but again not yet signed and sealed.
"We might have some news about that in the next 24 hours but as of the minute nothing has been signed."
Leitch-Smith and Dodds both scored their first goals for the club in Tuesday night's EFL cup success over Huddersfield Town, but all three were forced off with knocks.
