Disney returns to Hednesford Town
AFC Telford defender John Disney has made a surprise return to Hednesford Town on a one-year deal.
Disney, who finished last season at the New Bucks Head, spent two seasons at Keys Park after signing from Northwich Victoria during the summer of 2012.
In that time he established himself as a fans favourite, and was instrumental in helping the Pitmen to promotion from the Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division in 2012/13.
And the right-back then played a key role as Rob Smith's side reach the Conference North play-offs the following season.
During that summer the chance of full-time football saw the 23-year-old making the switch to Chester.
But he has snapped up by AFC Telford in January after failing to establish a regular starting place at the Deva Stadium.
Disney, who made 15 league appearances for Telford last season, had initially looked set to remain there for the next campaign, having agreed a non-contract deal.
But that deal had yet to be signed and manager Rob Smith said: "We are really pleased to have signed John Disney.
"When we found out that he hadn't signed for Telford we were quick to take advantage."
