Dorian Garner: Rows led to my Town axe
Former Market Drayton Town manager Dorian Garner has cited "differences off the field" for his shock departure from Greenfields.
A statement released by chairwoman Nicky Millington yesterday confirmed Garner had parted company with Town after 13 months in charge.
But Garner revealed the decision to leave was a mutual one following a strained relationship with Millington and vice-chairman Nick Billington.
Garner said: "I have had a disagreement with both the chairman and vice-chairman and we have all decided it's best that we call it a day.
"It's disappointing but we disagreed over a few things. One of two things have been said on both sides and the best solution was for me to leave.
"I'm sad to go but I have left behind a tidy squad of talented young players and I believe the team is now in much better shape than when I arrived."
Garner joined Town last season, with the club rooted to the bottom of the Evo-Stik Division One South table and facing relegation.
Director of football Mick Murphy took temporary charge of the team to no avail last night, with Drayton going down 6-1 at Leek Town in the league.
