The New Saints march on after scare

Boss Craig Harrison was pleased and relived to see The New Saints stave off the threat of a shock to progress in the Welsh Cup.

The holders and Welsh Premier League leaders were stunned early on as they fell 2-0 down to Cymru Alliance outfit Caernarfon Town before battling back to win thanks to goals from Mike Wilde, Chris Marriott and Jamie Mullan in an eventful first half.

"This was one of the toughest ties we could have had, but we showed a low of character and determination today to come through," said Harrison.

"We really had to roll up our sleeves and work hard."
