Market Drayton geared up for relegation six-pointers
Market Drayton manager Nick Reed has told his players their fight for survival is in their own hands as they return to action for Saturday's game at Finchfield.
Drayton sat out last weekend's West Midlands Premier programme and now travel for a vital game, at the team directly above them in the table.
Reed's third-from-bottom side then face a home game against Wednesbury and a journey to to Aldridge & Walsall, the two teams below in the standings, in quick succession.
Drayton have experienced ups and downs since coming up from West Midlands One last summer and there's still all to play for before the season's end.
Reed said: "The beauty of the situation we are in now is that it's in our hands. We have three massive games in a row and those three teams are around us in the table.
"That will shape what happens at the end of the season. If we can't get motivated for those games, then there is no point of us being in the league.
"I have faith in the lads and we are capable of staying up, you make your own luck and things even themselves out over the course of the campaign.
"At times, we have played well without any product at the end. My season's highlight will be watching us improve."
Midfielder Zach Shellman and strikers Chris Long and Jordan Chevins all could be back, as right-back Dan Bentley recovers from a broken wrist.
Shrewsbury managed to do Drayton a favour by walloping Finchfield 5-1 away from home last weekend and could do so again with Saturday's game at Wednesbury.
The former league leaders could climb up to third if results go their way and may be boosted by the return of Liam Middleton, although Steve Rivett is unavailable.
The Roman Roaders ran riot through two goals each from Matt Sillence and Lewis Jowett and a strike from Geoff Purnell.
Rivett said: "It was a very good performance, just what the doctor ordered."
