AFC Telford United are moving to tie up one of their biggest assets - by putting former Wolves striker Adam Proudlock on contract.
The 29-year-old has scored six goals in 10 outings since signing for the Bucks on non-contract terms.
That form, together with the Newport-based ace's impressive attitude, has convinced manager Andy Sinton to tie him to the club until the end of the season.
Club officials hope to have the paperwork completed ahead of Saturday's trip to Harrogate Town in the first round of the FA Trophy.
And assistant manager Darren Read is delighted by the deal.
"It's fantastic news and a testament to Andy that he can attract that calibre of player to the club," said Read.
"Adam comes from a professional background but he says the set-up here is along the same lines. He's been fantastic, a model pro.
"We wanted to test Adam's resolve when he first came," added Sinton's No 2.
"We want players who want to play for Telford and want to be here and progress at the club.
"We were straight with Adam at the beginning and it suited his lifestyle at the time (to join on a non-contract basis).
"We've approached him to go on contract, he's not approached us."
Meanwhile, officials are hopeful that the forecast of milder weather over the next couple of days will be enough to allow Saturday's Trophy clash at Harrogate to go ahead.
The Yorkshire club have asked for volunteers to help clear snow and ice off their pitch and will then keep their fingers crossed that the playing surface thaws out in time.
Read added: "We're hopeful and we have to prepare as if it is going to be on.
"But if it is not then we have already made alternative arrangements for training and we'll prepare for the re-arranged date instead."
