AFC Telford United have opened talks with Derby County - with a view to extending the stay of flying loan winger Greg Mills.

The 20-year-old Ram has been a big hit at the New Bucks Head and boss Andy Sinton is eager to hold on to him beyond the end of his six-month loan, which terminates on January 3.

The Telford chief has started talks with the management team at Pride Park and will try to speak to boss Nigel Clough this week.

"I had tentative discussions with Derby last Thursday," Sinton confirmed. "The wheels are in motion."

Meanwhile, the Bucks were tonight being forced into a gym-based training session as the Big Freeze continued to disrupt their plans. And they will use the TCAT Dome on Thursday in preparation for Saturday's FA Trophy first round clash at Harrogate.
