Woolliscroft had a spell at Stafford Rangers that came to an end last month and could now be on his way for a second loan term.
Zamaretto League side Hednesford Town, managed by former Telford chief Rob Smith, were hoping to complete the paperwork in time for their home game with Cirencester this afternoon.
"We've had an enquiry from Hednesford about Ashley and that's something that could happen," boss Andy Sinton confirmed.
"He's got a niggly calf problem though, and we wanted to make he's fit first before we agree to anything.
"It's been troubling him for a bit and it's why we had to leave him off the bench at Droylsden on Monday."
With Martyn Naylor also the subject of an approach from Tim Flowers' Stafford, Salmon could soon be the only recognised right-back in the Telford squad.
Meanwhile, manager Andy Sinton will not be punished any further, having been sent to the stands at half-time of last Saturday's 4-2 defeat at home to Solhull Moors.
The FA have now informed the club that they will be taking no further action.
