Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has urged his players to take out their frustrations on Arsenal tonight after admitting he is still 'sore' and 'smarting' from Old Trafford.

In over four years at Wolves McCarthy has rarely been as angry and frustrated as he was after the Saturday's last-gasp 2-1 defeat at Manchester United.

"I'm still bloody sore about it we shouldn't have got beat," said the boss.

"So let's win tonight and then see if we can we do it again on Saturday. Arsenal have lost two on the bounce so they'll be smarting, but no more than us."

Wolves have only lost one in five at home this season and McCarthy has targeted a Molineux repeat of the Manchester City win as they prepare to host Arsenal before Saturday's visit of Bolton.

"It's nice to get points in front of our own fans," he said. "That was proved aga-inst Manchester City where we played great stuff and everyone felt wonderful about it.

"We've got a couple of home games now so let's hope it's a fortress for us."

McCarthy insisted his players' belief hasn't waver-ed despite the weekend heartache.

"We've very much still got that belief, judging on how we played at Old Trafford," he said. "What happened is bound to have an effect (mentally). All the players were 'chewing', angry and upset. But none of them have their chins down."

And despite being in the middle of three games in eight days, the Molineux chief believes the same players can 'go to the well' again.

"We'll see whether they're OK, don't forget Bolton play tonight against Everton," he said.

McCarthy is convinced Wolves' revival will take off soon.

"We're only one point worse off from this stage last season. But we're a better team playing better football."
