Wolves boss Mick McCarthy today admitted his players' belief was being 'sapped' by the stream of late goals conceded ahead of Wednesday's clash with Arsenal.

Manchester United's 93rd minute winner in Saturday's 2-1 defeat was the eighth goal Wolves have conceded in the last 15 minutes of games this season.

Those strikes have directly cost McCarthy's side six points and 10 if you add in the two equalisers from Newcastle and West Ham when Wolves had also been ahead.

And ironically, the last time Wolves played the Gunners in April, they went down to an injury time goal at the Emirates.

"We've got Arsenal on Wednesday so we have to get it out of our system quickly," said McCarthy. "For all the good we did in playing so well at Old Trafford, to lose does damage in how we feel.

"It just knocks the stuffing out of us at the end and saps the belief we have. We kept Arsenal out for 93 minutes at The Emirates last season but still ended up getting beat and that's my over-riding feeling at the minute.

"I know we played well and had great individual performances but we came away with nothing. We've got to learn what to do and what not to do when we're in those positions at places such as Eastlands, Anfield, The Emirates or wherever."
