AFC Telford United today pulled off their biggest ever transfer coup by completing the signing of Adam Proudlock.
The 29-year-old Newport-based striker, who has played in the Championship with Wolves, has signed on a short-term deal.
And manager Andy Sinton is hopeful Proudlock could be available as quickly as tomorrow for the FA Cup second preliminary round home clash with Stourbridge should the final pieces of paperwork by finalised.
A move has been on the cards in recent weeks with Proudlock training with the Bucks and scoring a hat-trick in a 7-0 friendly victory over Chasetown.
Club officials have not divulged how long the agreed deal lasts, but Sinton is delighted to have tied up a striker who played for Grimsby in League Two last season and lists Sheffield, Wednesday, Ipswich and Nottingham Forest amongst his former clubs.
"It's a great signing for the club," said a thrilled Sinton.
"I'm a great believer in strengthening when things are going well if you get the opportunity and we have been able to do that here.
"Adam's got a good record in the Football League and he is only 29.
"But he knows he is coming into a team that is doing well at the moment."
Proudlock's arrival comes as the Bucks prepare to begin their FA Cup run against Zamaretto League Premier Division outfit Stourbridge at the New Bucks Head.
And Sinton is excited about his first Cup game in charge of Telford.
"It's a big game and a great occasion in the biggest Cup competition in the world," added Sinton.
