Wolves new-boy Jelle van Damme today admitted he is still adapting to the Premier League.
The £2.5m summer signing from Anderlecht came off at half-time during Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Fulham having put his new side ahead with his first goal in English football.
Van Damme has been suffering with an ankle injury he sustained on his Wolves debut against Stoke exactly a month ago, a problem which also forced his withdrawal from the recent internationals.
The 26-year-old missed the Everton game with his injury, and it has emerged that he felt tired during the Fulham match.
"I'm still adapting to the game over here and the pace of it," said the former Southampton man.
"I'm the type of guy who's always looking for better from myself and I'm never satisfied. I'll just keep going and try to improve."
Van Damme wasn't the only player to suffer from fatigue following the two-week international break, with the feeling within the club that Christophe Berra, who was sent off for two bookable offences, was also struggling to maintain the tempo.
Even though Berra was dropped by Scotland, it was thought the travelling and the slight dip in training over the fortnight contributed to a tired-looking couple of tackles by the former Hearts man.
Nevertheless, Van Damme is determined he and his team-mates pull out all the stops in their preparations for Saturday's trip to Tottenham.
"Spurs is another difficult away game and I'll be working all week to try to be involved in that one," he added.
"We just have to focus on the next game and we'll be working all week to prepare for it."
