Midfield maestro Phil Trainer has revealed the secret inspiration behind his latest goalscoring exploits for AFC Telford United - watching classic footage of manager Andy Sinton in action!
Trainer has scored three times in the last two games, including both goals in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Gloucester City.
And he dedicated the second, a mazy run and clinical finish, to Sinton - admitting he had been inspired by footage of the former QPR, Spurs and England winger in his playing days.
"I've been watching Premiership Years on TV lately and the gaffer's been on there," he explained.
"I've seen a few of his jinking runs so maybe that has given me a bit of inspiration.
"He was a decent player so I'll give him a bit of the credit for the second goal on Tuesday!"
Trainer has been credited in many quarters with four goals for the season so far, including the first in the 5-0 win over Hyde on the opening day of the season.
But the honest 29-year-old is quick to admit that one should go down as an own goal.
"As far as I'm concerned I've got three goals in four games - I didn't touch the one on the opening day but if they want to give it to me I'll have it," he said.
"The most important thing is that the team wins. It's four on the bounce now without conceding a goal - long may it continue."
Telford travel to Redditch on Saturday looking to make it five in a row.
The Worcestershire club have been in disarray after losing 5-1 to Alfreton, 9-0 to Boston and 3-2 away at Corby last night.
Boss Matt Gardiner released six players after the Boston battering, including ex-Telford man Chris Cornes.
But he does have two other former Bucks in his ranks - defender Andy Jones and striker Marco Adaggio.
