Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards is a doubt for Saturday's Premier League opener against Stoke after missing Wales' international with Luxembourg.

Edwards returned home from Llanelli with a groin injury.

The 24-year-old only returned to full fitness in pre-season after missing three months of last season with an ankle injury.

Edwards now looks like facing a fresh battle against the clock to be in Mick McCarthy's plans for the visit of the Potters.

Edwards joins fellow Wales international Sam Vokes on the sidelines after the striker returned from his four-month loan to Bristol City with a hamstring injury.
