AFC Telford United are dipping into the European market - offering a trial to Swiss-based youngster Kevin Vogeli.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder, who is half-Swiss and half-Cameroonian, has left Swiss Super League club FC Thun.

Vogeli, who has also been on the books of 13 times Swiss champions FC Basel, is eager to move into English football and has been brought to Telford's attention by agent Paul Turner, a close contact of the Bucks' management team.

He linked up with the Bucks for training last night and is likely to play a part in Tuesday's trip to Shifnal - though he is not expected to feature in tomorrow's Supporters Direct Cup final at home to FC United of Manchester (1.30pm).

"He's played for FC Thun for five years and was a regular for their under-21s last season," said first team coach John Psaras.

"He's someone who has been recommended to us and we will have a look at him because he has an excellent pedigree."

Telford are tomorrow planning to take a look at a mystery trialist who has, until recently, been on the books of a Premier League club.

And they also hope to look at former Kidderminster midfielder Dean Bennett, though Stafford also want him for their Chase Cup clash with Stafford Rangers.

Bennett did train with the Bucks last night and has been left to make his own decision.

Club captain Stuart Whitehead sits out the FC United game as he was getting married this afternoon.

"All the lads wish him the best," said assistant manager Darren Read. "We hope his new wife releases him for the next game on Tuesday!"

Tomorrow sees a double header at the New Bucks Head, with Telford's game followed by a clash between Merthyr Town and Scarborough for the Supporters Direct Shield.

Read added: "It will be a different game to the Hereford one on Tuesday.

"I think it will be more of a physical challenge for the lads, and there should be a fantastic atmosphere with four sets of fans in there - it should be a real noise bowl."
