Midfielder Phil Trainer has agreed terms on a one-year contract to stay at AFC Telford United - and boss Andy Sinton is also running the rule over several trialists.
Trainer will put pen to paper at training tomorrow evening, and preparations for the new season are stepping up - with a handful of players aiming to win deals.
Former Forest Green and Droylsden striker Alex Meechan has linked up with Telford for training, while ex-Port Vale hotshot Danny Glover is also bidding to impress.
Sinton has also invited midfielder Tyrone Smith to join up with the squad. Smith played for Sinton at Fleet last season, but has Conference experience with Farnborough and Aldershot.
"The first week's training went very well and I am pleased with the way things are shaping up," said the Telford chief.
"I'm pleased to have sorted things out with Phil, and the key is to get the best out of him. He's a talented player and he's just got to be a bit more consistent.
"His fitness levels are good and he's someone you want to work with, and get playing on a more regular basis. I'm confident I can do that."
On the trialists, Sinton added: "We've got a few people we are looking at and it's up to them to prove they are worth keeping."
