Rogers only change for giant killers

Champion-beaters Shropshire make just one change for their next Endsleigh County Championship bowls match - against neighbours Cheshire.

Wayne Rogers is recalled for the clash on Sunday, June 1, as Shropshire look to build on their stunning opening group three victory over reigning national champions Warwick & Worcester.

The Burway star is named in the home leg at Pontesbury due to his fine county record at the venue, with Wrockwardine Wood's Rich Morris the man to miss out after two single figure defeats.

Callum Wraight (Castlefields) switches to the home side with Chester Road's Mark Holland joining the away party at Nursery BC in Stockport.

Newport star Chris Grocott, unable to make his county debut against W & W due to an England trial, is named on reserve away.

And at Pontesbury, John Breeze (Childs Ercall), his heart set on winning 50 caps, is recalled on reserve.

* Pontesbury avenged their Premier League play-off defeat against Newport by dumping the Fishes out of the County Cup last night.

And the reigning Tanners Shropshire League champions won with something to spare, beating Newport by 45 chalks at Whixall with Danny Blyth winning 21-4 and Darren Wellings 21-6.
