Eight still in hunt for £3,000 prize

An ecstatic eight Shropshire bowlers were still in the hunt for the £3,000 main prize at the Isle of Man Festival today.

All had battled through from 1,000 plus entries to the last 64 at Nobles Park in Douglas, four of them from Ford.

Leading the way for the Shrewsbury villagers was Premier League averages favourite Nigel Bound, followed by Dave Hoffman, Anthony Gray and Gary Middleton.

Castlefields big guns Paul Williams and Callum Wraight were also safely through along with Wrockwardine Wood pair Allan Gaut and Stuart Rutter.

Denise Tonks of Woodpeckers was the county's sole survivor in the last 32 of the women's main KO.
