Ifton, unable to raise a team last week, stunned them 9-5 - and with leaders St Georges winning by the same score at Childs Ercall it means the gap at the top is back to 23 points.
But Wrockwardine Wood are moving quietly up on the rails, a tense 8-6 win at Bylet giving them a real boost.
Ford sent Sir John Bayley packing in the top clash of the night 11-3 while Castlefields and Chester Road both enjoyed good home wins to move menacingly closer to the top positions.
