Brilliant Builders was staged by Bakehouse Factory at the centre on Thursday(FEB19) and more than 60 children aged from two-and-a-half to 11 took part in a host of activities during the day.

It was the first of a series of Snapper Jaxx children's events to be held during school holidays throughout the year at the Darwin and Pride Hill Shopping Centres, all featuring stories, music and craft activities.

And it went down a storm according to Kevin Lockwood, manager of the Darwin, Pride Hill and Riverside Shopping Centres.

He said: "It's a been a brilliant event and we have had lots of children and their parents here.

"The performers have been very animated and really got the children involved so it's been a very interactive event and we've been delighted with it."

Stu Bowden, one of the Bakehouse Factory performers, said: "We had a fantastic, appreciative response from the Shrewsbury people and they're delighted we will be back at Easter.

"We're hoping to get a really good rhythm to the series of events we have planned for Shrewsbury and judging by the start we've made we will do because it was very, very good.

"The kids are very creative and out of the many places I've been to I have to say they're very well-mannered and appreciative, and the parents and children were very open-spirited, energetic and happy to get involved.

"The formula is tried and tested but it's always nice to take it somewhere new and find a really great audience."

The Snapper Jaxx crew are back in Shrewsbury at Easter with two more themed events.

Stop and Go will be held at the Darwin Shopping Centre on April 2, and Shooting Stars will take place at the Pride Hill Centre on April 9. All the events are free and run from 11am to 4pm.
