A brand new mobile game set in the Harry Potter universe has its first teaser trailer.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery sees players create their own character and experience life as a student at Hogwarts, with mini games and challenges revolving around attending classes and forming friendships and rivalries.

The role-playing game (RPG) will span the players years at the school

The developers confirmed it will launch in the spring on iOS, Android and Amazon.

A special preview of the game will be given to fans at the A Celebration of Harry Potter event at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida at the end of the month.

Jam City chief executive Chris DeWolfe said: “Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is a role playing experience about magic, friendship, and life as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

“We can’t wait to give fans a first look at the game at A Celebration of Harry Potter, and this spring players will be able to explore Hogwarts fully in their journey toward becoming a witch or wizard.”

2018 is shaping up to be a good year for Potter fans, with an augmented reality (AR) mobile game currently being developed by Niantic Labs, the company behind Pokemon Go – which took the world by storm in 2016.

Called Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, that game is also be worked on by Portkey Games.
