EU referendum: Iain Duncan Smith heading to Shrewsbury for Brexit meeting
He is one of Brexit's big hitters – and this week Iain Duncan Smith will be taking questions at a public meeting in Shropshire.
The former minister will be in Shrewsbury on Saturday as a guest of town MP Daniel Kawczynski.
Mr Duncan Smith, pictured during a recent visit to the region's Midland Chilled Food factory, is a former member of David Cameron's cabinet.
But he has become one of Brexit's most effective weapons and last week accused Downing Street and the Remain camp of "showing panic" after polls swung towards the Leave camp.
He said he has been "astonished" at the level of "personal abuse" from the Leave campaigners, adding: "They are breaking all the normal rules you'd ever make about a successful campaign.
"You never show panic and they are definitely showing panic at the moment. This personal abuse, the old rule of thumb in politics is that once you start getting abused you must be doing something right."
