Mercedes-Benz has released a series of teaser images for a new upcoming electric vehicle — the EQ C.

The German firm’s upcoming crossover will mark the production debut for the EQ brand, which will exclusively produce electric vehicles.

So far, there have been brief glimpses of both the front and rear of the car — as well as a glance at the interior. Although very little is given away in these images, it’s clear to see the EQ C will take on a simple, yet futuristic design with distinctive LED headlights and taillights.

The cabin also appears to be based on existing Mercedes architecture, with a large dual-screen display taking centre stage.

No further information on the car has been released, but it is set to be revealed in full on September 4 in Stockholm.

There’s a good chance the car will take on a lot of inspiration from the Generation EQ concept revealed at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The preview model features two electric motors with a combined output of 402bhp, with a range of up to 311 miles.

The Mercedes EQ C will go head-to-head with the upcoming Audi e-tron SUV when it comes to market, likely in 2019. Audi’s electric crossover is also set for a full reveal before the end of 2018.
