Mitsubishi bolsters Outlander engine offerings with new petrol model
Third drivetrain for SUV is now offered alongside hybrid and turbo diesel engines
The popular Mitsubishi Outlander is now available with a petrol engine to sit alongside the hybrid and diesel powertrain offerings.
The 2.0-litre engine produces 148bhp and 195Nm of torque, and is linked to a CVT automatic transmission. Power is sent to all four wheels via an electronically controlled system, giving better traction in all conditions.
All cars get seven seats as standard, of which the five rearmost can be independently folded flat to provide a flexible storage area. With those five seats folded, the Outlander offers 1,608 litres of boot space.
Other updates for the 2019 model feature on this petrol version, including a new honeycomb front grille, refreshed headlight design and new two-tone 18-inch wheels.
It also benefits from Mitsubishi’s latest infotainment system, which incorporates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, as well as DAB digital radio and Bluetooth connectivity.
The dynamics of the car have been enhanced too. Additional structural adhesive welding has been applied between the body panels to increase overall rigidity, while the front strut and rear shock absorbers now offer more damping force at low speeds, giving the Outlander a smoother ride.
Prices for the Outlander petrol start from £27,680, rising to £29,680 for the range-topping Outlander 4.
