The updated Outlander PHEV gets more power and better standard equipment levels

Mitsubishi has announced new prices for its updated Outlander PHEV.

The updated Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is available to order now, and is available in one of three trim levels; Juro, 4h and range-topping 4hs.

The popular hybrid is priced from £34,255 in the UK, and this includes the Government’s £2,500 plug-in car grant.

Updated for 2019, the Outlander PHEV now features a more powerful 2.4-litre engine, which offers a boost in engine output – now 133bhp up from 120bhp – as well as more torque, now 211Nm over the previous 190Nm.

The drive battery output has also been increased, resulting in an improved combined fuel economy of 139mpg under new WLTP test conditions.

There are updates elsewhere, too. The front and rear shock absorbers have been revised to offer a more comfortable ride at low speeds, and this is contrasted by a new Sport mode which sharpens the car’s throttle for better response. In addition, a new Snow mode has now been included to aid traction on slippery surfaces. Larger front brakes have been fitted to improve the Outlander’s stopping power too.

The main instrument cluster has seen a redesign too, along with the seats and switchgear. The PHEV’s exterior has been given a refresh too, with a new grille and bumper extensions combining to give the car a fresher look. New two-tone 18-inch alloys help it stand out even further.

Entry-level cars enjoy a generous amount of standard equipment, with features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and remote smartphone app compatibility included as part of the base price.

Higher-spec cars benefit from a 360-degree parking camera, blind-spot warning and a heated steering wheel.
