Ford slashes Mondeo price range
Popular saloon’s line-up has also been simplified
Ford has cut the price of its popular Mondeo, with up to £3,000 taken off the cost of the saloon car.
As well as a price reduction – the new Mondeo line-up now starts at £19,445, £2,500 cheaper than before – the entire range has been simplified, bringing it down from seven cars to five.
All models still receive satellite navigation, DAB digital radio and autonomous braking as standard, as well as front and rear parking sensors and cruise control.
The line-up starts with the Zetec Edition specification, leading to ST-Line Edition, Titanium Edition and the top-of-the-range Vignale.
Owen Gregory, Ford of Britain fleet director, said: “We know Mondeo customers want their cars to stand out. This has propelled Mondeo drivers from core series to distinctly sporty and luxury-looking models. Making this easier and more affordable takes Mondeo into 2018 in style.”
With the majority of Mondeos used as company or lease cars, Ford has reduced prices across the range to minimise tax liability. This sees £3,000 taken off the price of Vignale-spec cars, £2,500 from Zetec and ST-Line Editions and £2,000 from Titanium Edition vehicles.
The new Titanium Edition comes fitted with heated leather seats as standard, while the top-spec Vignale has been bolstered thanks to the ‘Nero’ pack – this includes 19-inch dark tarnish alloy wheels and darkened fog lamp bezels, lower grille and side strips.
First deliveries of the new Mondeo line-up are set for November.
