Five taken to hospital after two-car crash in Telford

Five people have been taken to hospital after a two-car crash in Telford this morning.

It happened on Stafford Park 4 shortly after 6am.

Fire crews from Telford Central, Tweedale and Wellington were called to the scene who had to use cutting equipment to free two of the casualties who had become trapped within their vehicles.

Also at the scene of the crash were ambulance service staff, the police and officials from Telford & Wrekin Council.

Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "A man in his 30s with a head injury and man in his 20s with minor injuries have been taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

"Two patients have been taken to Princess Royal Hospital with collarbone injuries and another patient has been taken to Princess Royal Hospital with minor injuries."

Four ambulances, a paramedic officer and a specialist doctor were sent to the scene.
