Daniel joins ranks of romance poets

"The book is romance poetry, but also involves poems of mindfulness and nature," said 20-year-old Daniel, who says a favourite place of his to think and relax is The Wrekin.

"I originally wrote horror and crime stories, none of which are published but maybe one day shall be.

"The reason I got into romance poetry was due to meeting my girlfriend, Chelsea-Ann. I wrote her a romance poem while we were dating and she really felt something from it, encouraging me to try and write more romance despite me saying it wasn’t my strong point.

"It was her encouragement and support which fuelled my journey in writing The Sunflower and the Rose.

"I type all of my work by hand on a Remington typewriter which I got for £40 from Etsy, which I call a miracle considering how much they can add up to these days being so antique. I am very grateful to my publishers, Spiderwize, who took my manuscript from raw and helped me transform it into something beautiful to be proud of.

"I have always lived in Telford and grown up in Dawley/Horsehay. I have been writing since I was 10, mainly inspired by my grandparents who would often tell me stories of their lives from when they were growing up, courting and other tales such as military days and holidays they had experienced.

"I went to Wrockwardine Wood Arts College and then on to New College where all English tutors and teachers were highly supportive. They helped me develop as a young writer.

"I have an Instagram blog, danieljlink, where I post daily of romance and mindfulness, and now that The Sunflower and The Rose is published I plan to put some work and effort into my social media account before adventuring into any new books.

"Though I do have some new projects in mind, they will have to wait."
