Oswestry teenager's long locks are gone
An Oswestry teenager’s hair grew so long, he started having the mickey taken out of him by his workmates.
Korben Taylor got so fed up of the daily banter he decided to take drastic action.
So at the weekend the 18-year-old not only had his hair cut, he went on to have it completely shaved off.
His sponsored head shave has raised at least £538 for the Hope House Children’s Hospice with more money still coming in.
Workmates were among those who chipped in to boost the fundraising.
He is also giving his long locks to the charity, the Princess Trust, to make into a wig for a young cancer sufferer.
The shave took place at Cappelli’s in Salop Road in the town on Saturday.
Korbyn said: “Thank you all so much for the donations and support. I am not a clean shaven lad and at the last count we have raised £538 for Hope House. I hope that this will inspire others to act.”
His mother, Dawn, said her son had been getting some stick from workmates at CVR Rollers about his shoulder length hair.
“He decided to get them back by having his head completely shaved, and then thought why not do it to raise money for charity at the same time.”
