Young people doing good deeds

A group of young people have set out to 'be nice in November' thinking of others before themselves.

Members of MD Warriors Children's Martial Arts Clubs, based in Oswestry, are currently taking part in a Good Deeds Challenge.

Along with other martial arts clubs, who are all members of the Kros Bros Martial Arts Community, they are trying to complete good deeds throughout November, to make as much difference in the world as possible.

At the recent Kros Bros camp, the students completed tasks such as writing letters to students in a club in Thailand, decorating stones with inspirational messages to be hidden in local places and making bracelets to be donated as Christmas gifts.

They also came across a lost dog and reunited him with his owner.

Sarah Kros said: "Students are also busy doing good deeds at home and telling their instructors about them in sessions. MD Warriors is also a collection point for the Oswestry Open House Community Christmas Day project.

"The idea of the project is that students think about the importance of being good people, and making a difference in the world - both close to home, and far away.

"We also want to inspire others to go out and do good deeds and to help others. Our target is 56 good deeds, but currently, we have completed 43, and still have half the month to go."

"The project is set for the whole of November, but we hope that the ripple effect it creates will continue across Christmas and well into the new year, inspiring other people to do good deeds too.”
