Pigeon in a flap is released from netting in Whitchurch

A pigeon that had been trapped in netting in a town centre has been released in a joint operation between firefighters and RSPCA inspectors.

The terrified bird was trapped in netting on the third storey of a property on the High Street in Whitchurch.

A fire crew from the town went to the building just after 6.36pm on Wednesday.

The firefighters had to use a 13.5 metre high ladder to reach the bird and release it.

It was check over by RSPCA officers and the operation was completed by 7pm.
