Strong winds in Mid Wales triggers yellow weather warning

Strong winds of up to 65mph are expected to blow into Mid Wales this weekend, triggering a yellow weather alert.

Travellers are also being warned by the Met Office to take care on the roads and in coastal areas due to the gusts.

Met Office spokesman Richard Miles said: "There will be strong winds across the whole of Wales. You can expect to see gusts of between 60 and 65mph in coastal areas and 50mph inland.

"People will need to take care when travelling. There are risks of short term power loss and some disruption on public transport.

"People's visiting the coast should also be careful of waves and spray."
