Fire crews called out to Shropshire primary school
Firefighters were called to a primary school in Much Wenlock today after reports of a cooker fire.
Two crews were sent to Brockton CofE Primary School in Brockton, near Much Wenlock, just after 10.30am.
Headteacher Dave Tinker said the fire alarm was set off by food debris in the bottom of the cooker.
He said: "It was merely a piece of debris in the bottom of the oven which was smoking and set off the fire alarms.
"The fire service came and were happy with all the procedures and then chatted with the children afterwards."
The fire crews were sent from Bridgnorth and Church Stretton and an operations officer was in attendance.
